Red Rock Canyon Run
October 22 &23, 2011
Come join me in some of the most scenic country in Southern California.  Red Rock State Park is located within the El Paso Mountains, and is filled with spectacular colors, great 4-wheeling and numerous old mines.
From the L.A. area, drive north on Hwy 14 through Palmdale, Lancaster and Mojave.  Proceed north a few miles past the Red Rock State Park entrance.  Watch for turn off on the right just 1 mile north of turn off to Dove Springs SVRA area.  Turn off is marked Red Rock Inyokern Rd with a very small sign.  Proceed about 1/2 mile down the dirt road to the camp area.
This is a dry primative camp out in the boonies, so bring all your own supplies you might need.  Plenty of room for both motorhomes and tents.
We will leave camp approximately 9:00am Saturday morning, and be out most of the day so pack a lunch to eat on the trail.  The run will cover terrain that is both scenic and offers minor challenges.  Locked differentials are helpful but not necessary.
